Journalists training on Family Law – UN Women

On 12 th June, 2026, UN Women in collaboration with African Woman and Child Feature
Service conducted a media learning workshop to deepen the understanding of 40 media
practitioners from print, electronic, and digital media on Family and Personal Law. The
training focused on the role of media in creating awareness and educating the public on the
rights of women, children, and other family members in relation to the Constitution of Kenya;
Marriage Act, 2014; Matrimonial Property Act, 2013; and Children Act. The meeting also focused on
the Centrality of Media in Access to Justice.
