- Research, content generation and implementation of the score card
Through research and content generation, AWC, through this project will increase information on women’s rights in Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania on women’s rights in relation to MDG 3 as well as for a
sustainable peace and reconciliation process.
Training will be offered to women leaders on gender rights, as well as leadership
specific issues such as election financing. Additional training content will address the most severe aspects of discrimination against women and girls, notably achievement of MDG 3 in relation to women’s rights, reduction of
gender based violence, access to reproductive health and rights in relation to maternal mortality.
AWC will prioritize women’s leadership
and access to decision making forums in all the three countries whilst taking cognizance on the role of women in peace building, recovery and development. One of the key advocacy targets will be the endorsement and
realisation of 30% quota for women in public office as well as in all governance structure. AWC plans to further enhance its advocacy through cooperation between government and women’s civil society organizations particularly
within the East Africa Protocol
