AWC is currently implementing the Jamii Thabiti programme that focuses on three forms of violence: Violence against Women and Girls; Criminal Violence, and Inter-Communal Violence. Under this programme, AWC Feature Service is focusing on Violence against Women and Girls (VAWG). In this regard, the organization is working with state and non-state actors to end this form of violence.
The community forum will bring together community leaders, Members of the County Assembly, County Executives and media practitioners to engage with the local police on safety and security issues in the county and how they relate to Violence against Women and Girls (VAWG).
This intervention is designed to empower communities so they can become champions in advocating against violence against women and girls and safety and security in their communities. And more importantly, working closely with and having confidence in the police to help address these issues. It is expected that the citizens and the police officer will enhance collaboration in addressing these forms of violence
