The report brings out key issues on gender based violence
This report is the outcome of an assessment undertaken under the Peace Initiative Kenya (PIK) project in nine counties namely Kisii, Kisumu, Kwale, Migori, Mombasa, Nandi, Taita-Taveta, Trans Nzoia, and Uasin Gishu where the PIK project is implemented. Peace Initiative Kenya (PIK) is a USAID funded project that focuses on improving national and county-level gender based violence service delivery systems and policy implementation. The project also works towards strengthening county engagements in prevention and response to GBV and increasing access to and utilization of GBV services through community outreach and awareness creation.
The report addresses the following areas:
- An overview of GBV related issues in the counties assessed
- Interventions and services in place (both government and nongovernmental) to respond to GBV
- Accountability and coordination of different actors towards a holistic and effective GBV prevention and response
- Recommendations for different actors (both government and non-governmental) to prevent and respond to GBV in the counties
