The onset of drought in Isiolo County is likely to ignite conflict in the area

Communities in Kinna area of Isiolo County are faced with a dilemma as to how to respond to early warning signs as drough in the county escalates.

 Speaking during a media workshop on Peace and Security organized by the AWC, Valentine Kagwire who is journalist from Radio Ushindi in Isiolo said that initially communities would use the early warning signs through government machinery to mitigate conflict. But with the County Government, the communities are faced with a dilemma as there no directions as to how they will deal with the issue.

Ali Wako Godana, the Isiolo town administrator however said that the county government has brought all actors together through organizations such as range land users association to mitigate conflicts both internally and externally.
